Magical Matariki art

 Hello Bloggers,

Today I finished my Matariki art for Matariki, which is a print, we put it on foam which we had to be careful not to put big indents. If you don't know what Matariki is then here's a quick explanation, Matariki is the start of the Maori new year. on the foam, I drew Mt cook on the bottom and the Matariki stars up at the top, with swirls around them as you can see. when we draw on the foam you have to make sure that you use a biro pen and push down slightly so it digs in just enough so when you put on the ink the lines are white like mine. Make sure that when you draw on your mountain and stars you do it opposite because when you do the print it acts as a mirror so if you mirror it when you draw it, it will be fine.

Here you will found step by step on how to make it.

Step 1: Grab some draft paper.

Step 2: Draw your stars, swirls and mountains. (make sure you mirror it!)

Step 3: Grab your foam.

Step 4: Cope what you have on your draft paper and put it on your foam. (make sure you do it in biro pen)

Step 5: Put lots of sellotape (in a rectangular shape) on a table.

Step 6: Put some ink on the sellotape.

Step 7: Then grab a roller.

Step 8: Start rolling the roller back and forth in the ink.

Step 9: Roll the ink onto your foam. (you can do different colours if you want)

Step 10: Then put some A3 paper on top of your foam.

Step 11: Grab a roller that doesn't have any Ink on it.

Step 12: Roll the roller on the A3 paper, for like 7 sec.

Step 13: Take the A3 paper off the foam and you're done!

Step 14: you can rinse off your foam and put some different colours on it.
